MediSens is currently taking a break – after two different, but successful events, the Sense Media team is taking time to digest the feedback, and assess the market and craft the plans for the next edition of the event. We are planning to bring together a bigger, broader, highly relevant event connecting over 400 medical imaging experts together to maximise the benefits of knowledge sharing, learning, and networking. Watch this space, and please do let us know if you’d like to be a part of the next chapter of the MediSens journey.
In 2018 MediSens brought together medical practitioners using diagnostic and surgical imaging devices with the full supply chain from lens, sensor and processor manufacturers with fibre and connectivity technologists, system integrators, thought leaders. Senior technical experts driving technology adoption at clinical level benefit from attending these events. It is the key European medical imaging conference of the year, dedicated to finding new technical solutions to challenges of improving healthcare via imaging. The agenda was structured to address specific patient group scenarios in oncology, including the most challenging scenarios for cancer diagnostic imaging. Why attend these industry-leading conferences? Looking ahead to the future, the conference is looking to broaden it’s scope to feature additional applications such as neurological imaging, pre-clinical imaging, endoscopy and visual spectrum imaging. The production team are seeking feedback and suggestions for how to develop this event series – get in touch if you have ideas to discuss. Day one’s Imaging in Diagnosis highlights included: New developments in photon-counting computed tomography; PET/MR and hybrid imaging, plus; NHS England’s view on the wider issues of AI and Deep Learning. Day two focused on Therapy Planning, with a keynote address from Professor Uwe Oelfke, Deputy Head of the Division of Radiotherapy and Imaging at the ICR and RMH, and insights on imaging requirements from proton therapy pioneer Dr Tony Lomax.
